■One private garden

ミスターメープルの大事なお客さんから、豪邸の門前のランドスケープデザインについてアドバイスを頼まれました。
敷地内の岩石露頭が素晴らしかったので、それを参考にして門前の岩石を覆っている土を除去して、隙間に乾燥に強いコニファーやセダムを植栽することを提案しました。
コニファーは彼らの得意とするところなので、オリジナルのロックガーデンができると思います。
We are invited to lunch by a important client of M r.Maple.They are major collectors of conjfers and Japanese maples.
They asked me for advice on the landscape design in front of their gate.
I focused on rocky roadside on their premises (Ph.2),and suggested cleanjg the rocks in front of the gate(Ph.1),and planting conifers and sedums,which are resjstant to dryness,in the pockets of rocks(Ph.3).

■Mr.Maple Garden
ノースカロライナ滞在最終日も半日となった時に、ミスターメープルは農場の一角のランドスケープデザインを私に依頼しました。
そこで弟が所有する森に行って、岩石の露頭や流れを観察しました。
急いで農場に戻って、私は20分で簡単なイメージ図を作成しました。
大中小の築山を不等辺三角形に配置して、それぞれに築山の裾野には山から突き出すように石を設置して、その間に流れを作ります。農場の排水を兼ねて雨の時には多くの水が流れます。
丘の上には、彼らが生産している多種類の日本モミジを植栽します。
At the end of our stay in North Carolina,Mr.Maple asked me to design a landscape for a corner of their farm.
So we observed the natural rocks and streams in the forest owned by Mr.Maple’s younger brother.
In just 20 minutes,I made a simple sketch.
We arranged three hills.large and medium and small sized 、in a scalene triangle ,with rocks sticking out from each hill to create a stream between them.
The stream made by the stones will carry away wastewater from the farm,and a lot of water will flow when it rajns.

ミスターメープルガーデンは、近くの森の岩石の特徴を取り入れ、また多くの種類の日本モミジを植栽するオリジナルの日米庭園です。
Japanese gardens have been inspired by nature for 1000 years.
Mr.Maple Garden is an original Japanese-American garden that incorporates the rock features of the nearby forest and also plants many varieties of Japanese maple.
